The South Pittsburg Academy Junior Varsity boys team is the only undefeated basketball team in the Sequatchie Valley Conference. In fact, the only undefeated basketball team in the area….that’s counting Middle School and High School.
Seven times they took the court and seven times they were victorious overwhelming nearly every opponent. With a point total of 275-132 they averaged a winning margin of 40-19 per game. Huntland Middle was their toughest adversary, but the Pirates came out on top 29-28, while Sequatchie and Whitwell suffered 38-4 and 35-9 drummings at the hands of South Pittsburg’s juniors.
Darnez Fitzgerald was the leading scorer for the JV Pirates averaging nearly eleven points per game, with Chase Blevins at 8, Chase Frame 6, and Tucker Abbott 5. Big time congratulations go out to the South Pittsburg Academy Junior Varsity Pirates.
