UPDATE 12/7/11:
A Marion County woman was killed in a violent car crash.
It happened Monday around 10 am on Valley View Highway at the intersection with Sherwood Street just outside of Jasper.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesperson said Joyce Ladd, 61, of Sequatchie, was southbound on Valley View Drive when she lost control on a curve. She over-corrected, came back across the road hitting a tree. Ladd was thrown out of the car which continued and crashed into a mobile home. No one inside the home was hurt.
Troopers said Ladd was not wearing a seat belt.
