Almost one year to to the day, another rock slide has affected I-24 traffic on Monteagle Mountain.
TDOT and the Tennessee Highway Patrol have reported a rock slide that is partially blocking Westbound traffic on I-24 at mile marker 140.
The slide occurred around 10 a.m. CST Monday, and officials with THP and TDOT expect the debris to be clear by late Monday night or early Tuesday.
Many will remember last year’s rock slide that affected traffic on the same stretch of interstate on Christmas day, dumping nearly 500-tons of debris onto the interstate.
That slide took a longer period of time to clear due to snowfall that also blanketed the area during the Christmas holiday weekend.
