Jim Oliver’s Smokehouse in Monteagle is now offering more than just their down-home and delicious food offerings and the also popular entertainment many have come accustomed to at the Smokehouse… They’re now featuring an entire season of the Smokehouse Gospel Music Dinner Theater series.

The series began last night with Aimee’ Garner, a gospel singer from Ringgold, Ga., who opened the show at the Smokehouse.

The series will feature a second show this month, then continues each month through October, and is built around bringing some of the best in Gospel music to a local venue where patrons can enjoy the music, fellowship, and their famous home-cooked buffet.

Upcoming concert headliners include The Troy Burns Family, The Williamsons, Tammy Jones Robinette, The Lore Family, and potential for many more.

Upcoming shows are scheduled for Thursday nights — July 28th, August 25th, September 15th, and October 27th.

Roger Spears, the executive producer of Harmony Road TV, which has used the Smokehouse as the site for several of their Southern Gospel television show productions, has been in talks with Smokehouse management and owners to present a regular gospel concert series at the restaurant for a while. In an interview with the Chattanooga Times Free Press he says the venue’s music room is perfect for the event, offering a nice intimate setting for both artist and concert goers.
